Professional Graduate Program in Education
Overview
The Graduate Program in Education (PPGE), approved by CAPES (Coordination of Superior Level Staff Improvement), offers a Professional Master’s degree since 2012 and a Professional Doctorate degree as of December 2023. The program is affiliated with the Departamento de Ciências da Educação (DCIE) at Universidade Estadual de Santa Cruz – Uesc.
The program’s core values emphasize ethical and social responsibility, quality education, teacher education (teachers, administrators, coordinators), interdisciplinarity, diversity, the recognition of knowledge, the integration of theory and practice, and scientific rigor.
The mission of PPGE is to prepare education professionals who are committed to teaching and management, addressing their specificities, complexities, and learning processes. These professionals will use the knowledge gained through rigorous methodologies, scientific and technological foundations, and research as a formative principle to transform the realities in which they operate.
Its vision is to become a national leader in the education and training of professionals who can support strategic decision-making in teaching and learning, guided by principles of application, innovation, and knowledge generation, while fostering cultural diversity.
